I am a face in the crowd
One that most choose not to see
I am the “other” – “caste” out
The minority

I am Black or Hispanic – Female or Gay
No matter my status, I am inferior they say
I am Asian, disabled, or receive low pay
No matter my status, I am inferior they say

I thought America was the land of the free
Filled with hope, prosperity… Equality?
I heard anyone here can succeed with determination
But I have learned a new truth – discrimination
