What are we missing?

This is Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. However, only one person truly stopped to listen.

The questions raised:
Do we perceive beauty in a common place environment at an inappropriate hour?
Do we stop to appreciate it?
Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written....... How many other things are we missing?

(I took this from the long now blog.)

  1. We miss everything because we are so caught up in the life of Mass Media we have lost concept of original raw beauty.

  2. There are so many people in today's world who feel as if they are in a rush to get NOWHERE. It seems as if people think that getting home to check their Facebook or Twitter is more important that enjoying nature or the arts. This will probably change the world's idea of what beauty is. Here, this man is playing the violin so beautifully but the majority of individuals walking through this building are on their phones. Is that conversation more enlightening than listening to a heartfelt melody? We are missing out on life because we are too "busy" to stop and embrace our surroundings.
