One Bad Grade

I have gotten one low grade on one of my essays and it has brought my overall grade down dramatically. If it was not for this low score, I would be in an A range, but now I am working my hardest just to keep a B average. I wish our lowest grade could be dropped or their was a makeup essay to replace that grade, becuase as much as I try to just let it go, I can not stop thinking about how this one score is affecting my overall grade in the class.

  1. i know, i am worried about my grade too. On all my papers I have been getting avergae grades and I am a straight A student. This class is very different than all my other classes. I think the teaching style is cool that it different but I am so good at the regular "boring" class structure that I am doing badly in this class.

  2. I totally know what you mean! I didn't do too well on the last paper and I'm trying not to be bothered by it or let it effect my next paper. I am not used to getting a low score on a paper but I guess I was just off my game last week. My best advice for us all is to take the negative and learn from it. And hopefully it will help with the next two papers. good luck!

  4. I'm on the same boat. Seems like I'm not improving AT ALL and I hate it...

  5. I think MT is amazing! This is the way everyone should be teaching their classes. I don't think teachers are doing anyone any good, if they aren't encouraging original thought and creativity. You may be getting A’s in your other classes, but if you are not being challenged what does that really mean? There is no growth without challenge or struggle. These mental exercises can only make us intellectually stronger. You don’t become an Olympic athlete without demanding more from yourself. Writing these papers hasn’t been easy. It is about expanding awareness, sparking genius and strengthening mental resolve. It is about seeing the world with new eyes, and possibly contributing an idea or a concept that has the potential to transform the way we live in the world. What if you could find the formula for utopia? Embrace the frustration! That discomfort means you are truly growing. You may be peeved at MT and the process now because you are frustrated, but when you come out on the other side and really feel like you have truly learned something you will be forever grateful, as I am. You are never doing badly if you are truly learning.
