Writing Classes

I find it quite strange that every single quarter there is a different writing style that each professor requires at this institution. It is frustrating to come to class and be totally lost on a lot of different things in this writing class. I  have never heard of a premise or "the cube". Teachers obviously teach differently. I received a pretty decent score on the first paper, shaky feelings about the second. Things that I have learned from other writing classes don't exactly have the carry over effect I'm noticing. So here I am sitting in Soc. 301 feeling like a beginning writer. I finished 412 with an A+. I know a little something about the Sociologists MT has mentioned. Trying to write the way this class is structured............... Guess I will be scheduling an appointment in your office hours to get this paper together, MT.

  1. yes - that you get something different from each prof "goes with" my statement that sociologists do not share a question, a quest.
so I turn to basic good practices in writing. period.
the cube - well, that is just to help you organize your thoughts about all the things/theories/concepts/data that has been presented to you.
