i'm a little confused on what we have to write for paper #2 i know we have to cite at least 2 quotes but what does the essay have to be? can anyone help please & thank you!
ness: have you been to class? did you read the blog on this paper? click paper 2 on the right hand side and you will see the posts on it. did you read the sample I put up? answer all those questions, and then I'll get back to you.
MAYBE THIS IS AN EASY WAY TO PUT IT: your networks define, confine, motivate, and free you. How have the changes in your networks shaped you - and did they change on you or did you change on them?
I have been to class religiously, and I understood what paper #2 was about, somewhat. However, I have to say that these comments from MT made it absolutely clear. Thank you.
As always, I don't know if it is "correct" but I know what I am writing about and that movie helped me with some thoughts about the network I am writing about that I hadn't understood before! I get the concept of the paper- there is just a lot of freedom in it and I think that is what confuses people ....once you get that part of it, it is okay. You are writing on a topic of your choice within the boundaries set up for paper #2. I am writing Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, a few hours each day. These things need time to sit on their own in order to become something ........ Write, edit, write, edit, write edit ........ - Gayle
Anonymous- would you mind sharing your understanding with the concept of this paper. Indeed I agree the freedom in it is what confuses me. Thanks for your time
and also check the lengthier prompt on maureentabor.com because as it points out I encourage you to use the language and concepts from lecture and from self-network-social structure-change (the cube) AND YOU ARE TO USE TWO OF THE FOUR THINKERS at least in passing: Marx, Durkheim, Simmel, and Weber - pick two of them.
gosh it seems like these questions have been answered already in class and on the blog and on the website. in fact, for one of them look at the comment right above your comment.
Is the network article we're supposed to cite "THE STRENGTH OF WEAK TIES": by Mark Granovetter? I can't access the link because i have to log in and i can't.

ReplyDeleteCan we use "the stranger by simmel" article as a second citation and does it also count for 2 of the 4 thinkers?
