  2. From my understand we're supposed to write one sentence for each paragraph explaing what the paragraph is about. It's like putting all your topic sentences together to make the abstract.

  3. Abstract is to be at least three sentences, but it is probably even a better idea to do the "paragraph exercise" and then build your abstract from that: number each paragraph, then write a brief phrase for what each paragraph "does". that, then, can easily become your paragraph at the same time as it make you check the integrity of each paragraph.

  4. Can you make a sample of the "paragraph exercise"? We didn't go over it in class.

  5. we did. you just jot down what each paragraph DOES. that way, you can see if one paragraph does TWO things, it can probably become TWO paragraphs. you can also see if you have REPEATED and just RUN ON with some of the same stuff in earlier paragraphs in later paragraphs.
then when you are done, you have a little poem of your paper: 7 paragraphs = 7 line.
take those 7 lines and make them into sentences and that can become your abstract.
