Sociology Classes

Any recommendations on sociology classes to take for next quarter?

  1. 450 with Rosann Giarusso. I am going to TA for her. It's a good class if you are interested in aging .... and we will all be there eventually!!

If you like multiple choice midterm and final and that's it and pure lecture Dr Tsukashima (spelling might be off) for 430 (Urban Sociology) or 460 (Diversity) Some people think he is dull ...... he is older and sometimes it is dull but if you like a class with no discussion and just the two tests ..... I liked him. Just take good notes (it is a lot!) and read the book. I liked Urban Sociology better - pretty interesting stuff. 300 with Steve Gordon is another one where he just lectures - multiple choice and essay answers and one short paper. That's it off the top of my head. Did you take statistics already? If not be sure to take Mohammed A .... can't spell his last name off the top of my head. Awesome teacher. Good luck!

  2. 433 Bioethics with Drapper. There is a lot of reading in her classes but it is straight forward and I find it all to be pretty interesting, specially this one. She comes off as a hard grader and her classes seem like it's going to be a lot of work, but if you show up and do the reading you will be fine.

  5. ok - go to dashboard. On dashboard, make sure you are on THIS blog (it will be named). you should see two icons for a post - search around. one will look like a little pen tip or pencil tip. the other will say "New Post." click either one and you get to the compose screen. But also, up where it says "dashboard" and all that on upper RH corner of screen once you sign in - there typically also is a "new post" link up there.
