this was an incredibly interesting video, thnx for posting! :) i could not believe the acuity and speed of the chimps' (all 6) reflexes. makes me think twice about ever underestimating an animal's intelligence in the future.
also found the example you gave in class to be helpful to explain your theory of the brain vs. mind. i HIGHLY recommend the book "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin De Becker. In it is a careful analysis of the importance of trusting our instincts. very important book to read!
how trippy and cool. but why do they have to say the one theory that attributes the chimps' superior performance to them caring more about peanuts? Maybe they just process some info faster than humans. Those numbers flashed off the screen pretty quick. Are people/scientists afraid to make that claim? Do we have a fear of appearing inferior in some way as a species..? I would think that the human's desire to prove themselves more intelligent than a chimp is equal or more motivation to us than a peanut is to a chimp. just interesting...
