Paper 3 guideline & research outline

I took lots of notes on Mon for Paper 3: Hope this helps everyone! :D
Paper outline:
intro: objective
body:about search topic - what you found about topic
conclusion: subjective
citations: long part of an article
2 short parts of articles
*must use 3 articles to cite and also use web page as a cite
(p 1) title page : abstract: the quote summarizing the paper in total (Its a descriptive summary of the paper)-1 paragraph that is 200 words or less
on separate page following title page
(p 2-3 ) 2 pages is the body of paper
(p. 4) final page list of references
(p. 5/6) last 2 p: libary worksheet & the original search term papers w the pink ink
total of 6 pages
I also took notes on how to research: go to library home page

click articles

search database click Sociology - then click sociological abstracts

date range 2001-2010

journal articles only

type 1 term in each box & next term on box below - click search

edit search to add more terms

substitute terms untill you get terms that have the most hits around 300-400

can add more terms to the OR section to get more articles

if you add an asterik * to a search term as a "wildcard"

U can click on an article & check them so U can send them to yourself

click on marked records

click save, print, email

U email URself then click back to return to results on top of page

For full text on article, click Find It! (this checks all databases for the full text of article)

Use SAGE (if U are lucky enough to have found it on database) then it'll pop up .pdf of article

You can save it to your desktop, print it or email it also

finding websites other than using google
go to library homepage and click on recommended websites - click on any of the list
type search term/terms (Number 8 on worksheet)
if you must use google, click on advanced search and type in all terms using or after each
ie. culture or children or los angeles

also click to class web page for more
