Crips n Bloods film...shock!!

I watched Crips n Bloods...I was actually shocked at how interesting it was.
I did not think it was going to have such an inside perspective of both gangs.
I am really happy I chose to watch it....and I'm more shocked that I came out of that film feeling a bit sympathetic for them!
I hope everyone enjoyed the film they watched!!

  2. i am reading the book "Monster: The autobiography of an l.a. gang member" for my Soc 383 Violence in U.S. Society class. It has also proved to be quite fascinating, and I was especially blown away in regards to the in-fighting amongst "sets" of the same gangs (e.g. crips fighting crips very often), not just crips fighting brims (bloods). It also lends itself quite solidly to the social learning theory developed by Hirschi and Sutherland.

  3. I do feel sympathetic for them and shocked that there is real concrete history behind the creation of the gangs. Good Movie.

  4. yea i enjoyed this documentary film as well, too bad there were only a few of us watching the thing, but it was alright still, i liked the fact that they didnt just jump straight into the crips and bloods, but gave a good historical background of the black community in south l.a.

and that book monster was good too, i read it in a couple of days when i was locked up in my room in juvie, it is crazy how that kody guy would "supposedly" kill so much people and get away with it, i guess the authorities just didnt care too much about that community to police it very well huh?
