I think I listen too much to music while studying....guess i need to settle down now for this paper huH? Seems like alot of people have a hard time identifying with what they have conflict and concensus with. I know I do, but I just want to thank the professor for being so generous and giving us more time on the conflict paper. I guess I have conflict with writing the paper and need to reach a concensus to write it?
this morning I saw a little boy about two feet tall walking with his mommy down the hallway of the third floor here. They came to a drinking fountain and the little tyke excitedly stopped when he recognized the glistening silver and put his hands up and then lo and behold hoisted up his little body so that he could drink from the spout. His mommy let him do it - and do you think that if she had helped him he would have liked that? No! He wanted to do it for himself (and he probably wasn't even thirsty). Hooray for the little boy. She technically speaking has power over him, but he took the power at the moment. To me, that's human nature at work: human nature is to try, fail, try again, overcome, and achieve. How do you see our political structure right now: have the government lift us up and let us drink the water or find means to hoist ourselves up as did the little boy? When does the soul open and rest? When it is given something or when it overcomes an obstacle of power? What is the deep functioning - of both power and consensus?
