Has Martin Luther's Dream Come True?

Is this election of hope and change become a reality? Is this what he wanted? Watching Larry King live and this was discussed. I think this is definetly what Dr. King wanted. We are changing the way Americans are thinking. Hope is definetly on its way.

  1. for MLK had a dream and at the moment i do believe that the process of this nation becoming one and not separated is coming true. for now we have a president that is not completely Caucasian. i have stood where MLK gave that speech and it is very overwhelming. i felt like i want to go out and make a difference. even if it wasn't a big one

  2. I think this election has renewed a faith in many people. I purchased a plaque that said it all.... Rosa Parks sat so that MLK could walk, MLK walked so that Obama could run, and Obama ran so that our kids could fly! I wonder if members of the LGBTQ community feel the same way. I would image that for most of them, this moment in time is bitter sweet. With the passage of Prop. 8 in California and the passage of similar measures across the country, I wonder if they feel like they can be apart of the American Dream that we ALL wish to seek. We need to remember the words of Dr. MLK Jr. What many people don't realize is that he was for equality for ALL people, not just black people. I know without a shadow of a doubt that if he were alive today, this moment would also be bitter sweet for him. He would be disappointed in Prop. 8 and the other similar measures, but he would be rejoicing in the fact that our country has elected its first black president, but hopefully not the last!!!

  3. I THINK THAT OBAMA CLEARLY REFLECTED IT WHEN HE SAID, "On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord". IF MLK WERE STILL ALIVE, I AM SURE HE WOULD HAVE CRIED OF JOY!!!!!

  4. Martin Luther King's Dream seems to have come true with the election of Obama, however it is up to us as individuals to continue his dream and spread the dream to others.
