A Compromise of Cultures

Social Structure is a systematic mechanism that derives from social interaction and relations between cultures. It is influenced by the collaborations of major organizations/institutions. Communication within the Social Structure can be interpreted by actions, objects, or ideas.

  1. Seems like you are "seeing" something. Mind if I try to re-state it to see if I see what you see?
Social Structure is a systematic mechanism of social interaction and relations between statuses and cultures. Major organizations and institutions shape that interaction. Communication within the Social Structure comes in the form of actions, symbols, and words.

  2. id like to add that social structures are created by us everyday... is social structure part of the norm? if we create.. why did we create it and how is it going to benefit us as an individual of society. i would say that social structure is like a relationship that we create.. with people that are parts of different organizations, institutions, or even just in your own household. the meaning of this term can be interpreted in many different ways... i do not think there is a wrong or right answer!

  3. I'd hate to be pessimistic but it seems to me that social structures at time do more harm than good. I guess it's due to the current events going on in society right now, but why did we have to transform from small organized communities to large biased organizations. Organizations that derived from power and greed and only cause harm to the public?

  4. I agree with or-ange to an extent. Many social structures are created to a keep people in subordinate roles. This can happen in large or small groups. I've seen plenty of small groups subordinate other groups. Take for example the gay community. Many members of the LGB (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual) community discriminate against members of the T (transgender, transexual, etc.) community. Many religions discriminate against the entire LGBT community. When is the sick social structure of hate and discrimination going to end?

  5. Social structure can have different meanings. And in my opinion the way you are raise in a family can affect the you socilaize with others. If your family is really strict or old fashioned most likely you might end up having the same social structure as them.
