Should He Be Forced to Have a Vasectomy?

I came across this story while driving home, listening to one of my favorite radio shows-93.5 with Michael Baisden. There is a 29 year old man that has 21 kids-by several "baby momma's" who is complaining about paying child support. His check is garnished monthly and it leaves him with no money to survive on. All of his kids are under 12 years old and because there are so many, some mothers only receive $2 a month. He says, "he didn't mean to set a record, it just happened."

A listener called in an purposed that this man be forced to have a vasectomy. I thought this would be an interesting topic to blog about. So, what do you think?

I have very mixed feeling about this. Part of me says, "oh for sure....cut it off "(sorry fellas), but the other part of me feels that he is not the only one to blame and the punishment should be shared. The women, who gave birth for this sorry excuse for a man, are at fault also. Unless they did not know of the other 20 kids (which I think is not possible being that they live in the same city), then they should not expect to receive any type of support from him, so don't ask. Take care of your baby yourself and have play dates with the rest of the clan.

  1. That's a tricky one and you have a point. Though it is the women's choice to have the baby or not, what it he was very low key about it and made them fall for him in a minute??? You know some men have that charm. Is he extremely good looking??? I would say make him have it anyway but these women need to get their butts off the couch and get a job. I feel for a loser and had a child by him but never even bothered asking for child support. I have a job and am educating myself and have been doing perfectly without.

  3. Absolutely, he should be forced to have one. It goes for women out there who also have kids they can't care for. Enough is enough! The lives of these children will forever be impacted when they come into an enviroment like that. Let's think about their rights and not the rights of the adults. Children First.

  4. I agree with you guys- this should be a "forced vasectomy", look at all the damage he has done. Then if one is one sided they might say, it's the women's fault, which they are a part to blame for this madness too. But the guy, to me, is the ultimate blame and should be punished, but maybe he is getting punished from all those child support payments. Maybe the women do work but need support from the dad as well, children are expensive these days. I agree with kitkat...Children First. No one seems to be thinking about them.

  6. I concur with kitkat, he should be forced to have a vasectomy; he is still young and the number of children could increase in the future if he doesn’t use protection. It is obvious that by having 21 children, he is not protecting himself when he is sexually involved with someone. Although, it is the women’s choice to have the baby or not men also have the choice of using or not using protection. Both, men and women should take equal responsibility when getting sexually involved. Bringing a baby into this world by mistake is understandable, but fathering 21 children is not an understandable mistake.

  7. I agree that he should be forced to have vasectomy; anyone who is careless. And not thinking of the unborn child is a loser. The mother are not getting two dollars a month, the courts get that money. It sounds the mothers are getting some state aid to support the child. "Totally wrong"

  8. Wow that's a bit outrageous. The dude must be very charming to have that many kids at the age of 29. In my opinion, I don't think a vasectomy will do any good. I think he should try and win a lotery or something, maybe even control his sexual intercourse habit.

  9. Wow 21 kids by different baby mommas! I think that the 29 yr old man should have more self discipline and common sense to have safe protected sex. A condom would definitely help to prevent pregnancy and the spread of STDs. For his safety and his partners he should at least wear a condom. The women of course hold some responsibility in preventing an unwanted pregnancy. The women should refrain from sex unless the man uses a condom during sex, or she should be on some sort of contraceptive. I don't think a vasectomy would fix anything, he is careless and irresponsible for his actions. Even if he was sterile, he would still have risky sex if his partners had STDs. Either way he and his partners are at risk of pregnancy or STDs. As far as child support, he should accept his responsibilities as a father and support his children. If he was man enough to have sex he should be man enough to deal with the consequences.
