...make your self go to the gym without the agony

i think most people go to the gym for the wrong reasons. they wana get buff for the summer, they wana fit a certain size pants, they wana empress someone. then after a month of going you suddenly loose interest. dont get me wrong i realize that it might be for some other reasons like you have to watch your kid or some other important stuff, thats understandable, however for the people that are just too lazy to go or just lost interest try doing it for your self, make it your own personal time where no one can bother you, some kind of stress relief and looking in shape is just a byproduct not the main goal, try it and tell me if it works

  1. I think you are right. People go for the wrong reasons. They go to fit into that baithing suit because it is summer. Or I think its funny how after new years day, the whole month of January you have to wait for a machine because its everyones new years resolution to lose weight. If I go to the gym its such a drag getting there but once I'm there its my time and afterwards Im glad I went because it is a major stress releiver for me.

  2. I did start to go to the gym and then quit because i became lazy. The nearest gym in my house is in the next city. so it tool me an hour to get there and then an hour to get back. Now that i am at cal state, there is a gym but i have four classes. Sometimes people get lazy because of other outside factors.

  3. I recently began working out, after a very long break. I love running because it is a stress reliver for me although I will fully committed to run I had to stop. I think I might of pushed my self to hard and know my knees hurt. I cant wait till they feel better so that I can start running again.

  5. I recently started going to the new gym on campus and i've got to admit that it is not as intimidating as other gyms. I used to go to Bally's and I hated going there 'cause it was like walking into a meet market...people just go to see who they can get. It's a lot more relaxing at the school gym, maybe because of the environment? Idk, but I think this is one of the reasons why new people who join gyms quit right away--because of the expectations. It's almost like you gotta work out before you join a gym...

  6. I agree with urban peasant....I haven't been to the gym at school but when I got my Bally's membership I was all excited to be in shape and feel good, but when I started going, I was a little intimidated because everyone stares. Instead of going to get a good workout they try to pick up on you. so many guys would check me out and try to talk to me and i was so annoyed i just stopped going. I mean i was embarrassed to be myself and workout with all the attention i had.

  7. I think about going to the gym everyday, but never actually get there. It's either I'm too busy or just too lazy. It's weird that people usually only think about working out in the summer and once summer is over they stop. I started working out last summer and lost 20 pounds, but I gained them all back and here I am again this summer trying again. That sucks!
