Does color skin really matter?

I was reading Pacman's post and it only made me think about our color skin when he said if the police would have treated them different if they were African American or Latino? It is sad to say but I believe that we still live in a very racist society, where people go by your color skin and decide what treatment you are going to receive. The majority of the time police officers target more African American and Latinos. Being a white person is a privileged and being a person of color is a big disadvantage in this society, where supposedly discrimination and racism does not exist anymore.

  2. do you have facts to back up your claim that police target African Americans and Latinos a majority of the time? Also, who the heck said that racism and discrimination doesn't exist anymore? As long as their are humans, their will always be racism/discrimination, and many other horrible social illnesses. One more thing to ponder: does white privilege exist on the CSULA campus? Or is someone who happens to be white, but add a variable such as disabled, and are they still so privileged? just some thoughts.
