Portrait Paper

I am doing my paper on Latina women and their family relationships. I was wondering if anybody would like to share any opinions or stories. Any info is welcomed. Thanks a bunch.

  1. Cake: brilliant way to use the blog. I can also post a "poll" for you or anyone who wants a "poll" that people can vote on. You design it and I'll post it or we can post it together and you learn how easy it is to have a poll.
Anyway, Latina women! I personally have found Latina women to be very strong. I have to laugh when I hear stereotypes like that Latina women don't like to speak up in class. Well, not all do, but plenty do. Does the group divide in two: Latina women very much still under the traditional influences vs. Latina women much more oriented to "modern" society?

  3. I was hoping people would like to share some semi-personal stories about how their relationship with family is. My relationship with my family for example is much better now. When I was a teenager, however, my mother and I would argue just about every day for no big reasons most of the time

  4. I know what you mean! I would fight with my mom all the time too! I felt she was too old fashion and that I was nothing like her. Also, my dad was really strict and overprotective of me. He had a "machista" way of thinking. I have 3 brothers and they pretty much did whatever they wanted. I always felt that was unfair. Now, as an adult, the relationship with my parents is great. They have come to realize that I am my own person and that times have changed. We are all better people because of it.
