Book Recommendation (Re: Brain vs. The Mind)
"The Gift of Fear" by Gavin De Becker- in it is a careful analysis of the importance of trusting our instincts (esp the survival signals that protect us). Very important book to read! Usually our raw instincts are correct, but it is our MIND that shuts out the incoming messages to better appropriate our behaviors to keep in line with society's norms. Often, ignoring our instincts will get us into trouble.

thx for this rec. good followup to our chimp, too. Ha last night on TV saw a guy interviewed who wrote a book on "life after death" and he says the question is whether there is a difference between the mind and the brain.
