Top of the Ten 0'clock news...a man killed his entire family due to financial difficulty. They flash the suicide prevention hotline across the screen...next story, stocks plummet. Suicide prevention Hotline at the end of the broadcast, again.
I saw that in the news as well and i was shocked, many lives affected. What caught me the most is that in his suicide letter he stated it was the honorable thing to do. It is frustrating that many people are being affected everyday due to the problems our society is facing. It is also frustrating we place too much value in materialism to the point where if someone can't provide for their family they feel helpless and resort to extreme alternatives. Furthermore, what upsets me is that we have this bailout plan to help these corporations that are responsible for capitalism, and globalization yet there isn't a bail out plan to help US. Because at the end we are losing the most.
