June 3 evening class cancelled.  I need to take a personal day that day. Papers still due that week.  I will be picking them up at 10AM Friday June 4

REMEMBER TO ATTACH YOUR ORIGINAL PAPER if it is a revision.  HIGHLIGHT the new changes on your revision.  If quantitative paper, attach your data gathering instrument as an Appendix at the back of your paper.  I do NOT want the data.

Writers Day: Paper #5

• Just finished paper 19 - 7 more in the morning.   Wow - some great papers - even if just in potential. I am going to encourage a lot of your to re-write & develop.  Maybe you wish to go forward with your Quantitative study, and that is fine, but in addition I will be asking almost all of you to re-write this paper #5 so that we can have a collection.  I will also be asking you to send them to me electronically and give me permission to publish them on line.  Each one is unique, and yet they share a fresh curiosity and integrity.  Thx-and let's keep going.
• Consider coming to class on Monday to pick up your paper even if you are scheduled to come on Wednesday.  
• I'll do my best to email each of you by noon as promised so U can better make your decision as to how to finish up.

Arizona SB1070 and citizen deputies

The US Attorney General has not read the bill (his own admission), but everyone should read Arizona Bill SB1070.   It is 16 pages long.  I searched Arizona Bill SB1070 for "militia", "deputy", and "citizen" to read about the citizen deputies.  There is no mention of these terms.  Then I googled "Arizona citizen militia and SB1070".  I found two blogs.  One of them said that the people behind SB1070 were in favor of citizen militias.  It was from 9 days ago and 3 people had left comments. The second blog was also from 9 days ago; it had no comments.  
If I missed language in the bill itself that allows citizen militias to enforce law, please comment with the page number.  If I missed a better news source than those two little blogs, please deposit the URL.  We would all like to know if the state is approving citizen militias.

I am confused, paper #4 is the film right?? Why do paper #4 say in (papers 1-7) the qualitative one??

For the quantatative paper can i use an underground hip-hop show for my obervation. I have never been to one. Ive always loved the music but never had the chance to go to one and i think that would be a great place to observe the environment, the atmosphere, and the most of all the people and the vibe

Museum of Tolerance

Those of you who work during the day and were interested in attending the museum on an afternoon, think again. The hours for the museum: 10am-5pm. They are closed on Saturdays. Sun 11am -5pm. The museum is in Long Beach. It seems like if its worth going to even if we dont have time before we turn in our paper.
