Four more I have to add: 1 Long Way Home 2 Breaking the Mayan Code 3 Gran Torino 4 Two Spirits: Sexuality, Gender, & the Murder of Fred Martinez (2009)
"A Time to Kill" is an oldie but a goodie! I was going to suggest adding "Happiness," which is a dark and twisted comedy about everyday issues that wouldn't be funny on normal occasions; and "Born into Brothels" which is an amazing documentary about seven kids who live in the red light district of Calcutta, where their mothers work as prostitutes.
the night class is scheduled to watch the movie next week. So we have to decide by Sunday. Otherwise, I don't have time to get it from Netflix. Vote Now.
Gran Torino! I really enjoyed this movie. At first I avoided seeing the movie because the promotional commercials were boring but I took a chance on it and I am glad I did.
ha! night class: nothing even has two votes, so I am going to pick unless I hear more from you. I need to get the film before Thursday . . . Vote! Right now, I think I'd pick Persepolis http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808417/
1. The Defiant Ones. I heard this is a good movie about two escape prisoners (one is white, played by Tony Curtis and the other is African American, played by Sydney Poitier) who are shackeled together and forced to cooperate with each other to survive.
2. Mississippi Marsala, starring Denzel Washington. Deals with issues of interracial relationships in America.
Four more I have to add:
