talk to a bunch of people "on the street" - on campus. Just say hello and a few words. Code the level of "eye contact" you get with the various sexes, races, styles. Keep it simple and consistent, e.g., with each of them ask if they have the time and maybe say, 'It's such a nice day, isn't it?' or something consistant so you allow the variable you choose to shine through.
