Hi, MT - I was wondering, I used a few quotes that I found in my Sociology book from last quarter, but it was a book that was published by my Professor Jon Snodgrass. I know who the author of one quote is, but how do I give him credit?
Also, I am using the quote you have on your blog by George Elliot, how do I give him credit in my reference page? Best, Leslie
I'm on the same boat. I know it was not required but I've quoted a couple of people. I'm not sure if I should just cite them in the text, or if I should create a reference page and cite them in the text.
ReplyDelete1. George Eliot is a woman.
ReplyDelete2. Read these posts from fellow students of 2009 http://writingsoc.blogspot.com/2009/05/its-never-too-late-to-become-person-you.html
3. if you google the quote and put in George Eliot's name you see it is vague where she said it. So just say she said it. She's a famous novelist, so you can get away with just saying "George Eliot"
and no reference page required for this paper
ReplyDeleteAlright, got it. Thanks!
